This coming April 1-2, 2017, the George Washington University Law School and Estrella, LLC will host the fifth annual Estrella Trial Advocacy Competition (ETAC). Yes, this is our 5 Year Anniversary! ETAC is the only federal civil mock trial competition in Puerto Rico. The Competition is an invaluable learning experience in which law students can practice advocacy skills through participation in a mock trial. These types of competitions prepare law students in ways that a classroom cannot, and measures their ability in real time against nation-wide peers. Students are afforded the opportunity to put into practice the rules of evidence, trial strategy, and oral advocacy skills including preparation of lines of questioning, statements, and arguments. Additionally, using real courtrooms gives students the unique experience of learning to use the well, witness box, jury box, and how to address the bench.
