Community

As one of the oldest and largest law firms in Old San Juan, Estrella, LLC is deeply committed to its community. We enjoy giving back to the people who make up our vibrant neighborhood. We encourage our attorneys to embrace volunteer activities and donate time and energy to local charitable organizations.

Community Involvement Committee

Estrella, LLC actively engages in the Old San Juan community and has established a committee including representatives from each legal group to lead our community involvement activities. The committee guides charitable decisions and selects which charity the firm will support in a given year. We raise money for the selected charity, make a generous donation from the firm and engage in several community-building events that support and celebrate the organization’s mission.

Each Friday, we collect money for charity by encouraging our attorneys and staff to engage in a casual dress day. With a donation to charity, our staff can dress in jeans. Our casual Fridays encourage community involvement while building a sense of collegiality and fun within our firm.

Community Events

In the past five years, the staff at Estrella, LLC joined in many community activities. We contributed to the efforts of Casa Cuna of San Juan, an adoption facility that is operated by the Municipality of San Juan, by volunteering in activities that benefit the facility and the children that it serves. Our attorneys and staff always appreciate an opportunity to celebrate so we hosted a birthday celebration for the children at the adoption facility.

We enjoy organizing social activities for the residents of San Agustín Home for the Elderly. We also support Niños que Quieren Sonreir / Santurce, a home for child cancer patients and their families located close to the San Jorge Children’s hospital. For three consecutive years, we held a Three King’s Day activity at the facility. Attorneys and staff from Estrella, LLC visited the home and put together a celebration for the residents. The residents greatly enjoyed spending time with our staff. With each of these activities, our staff makes an important difference in the lives of the individuals served by these charities.
